From Womb To Tomb
It's unbelievable how time flies and so much of my life has changed. I'm hoping that my shifts are inspiration for you, because shift can happen for anyone, anywhere, anytime. It is not an exclusive club. One thing is for sure, when we are open to it, curious about it, fearless about it, and everything in between … deep transformation happens.
Years ago, I was on a road trip through Oregon with my Mom and she turned to me and said “Yvette, if you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be?” Without missing a beat I said "From Womb to Tomb". I have no idea where it came from and I think I surprised her with how fast of an answer I came back with. It surprised me too! That title has never left me and as a matter of fact, when we stopped to spend the night at the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport, Oregon, imagine my shock when I discovered someone painted a wall library of books and there was my Opus sitting there on the painted shelf.
However if she asked me the same question today, I might consider a change to "As the Prop Turns & the Karma Burns". It would be the journey of my shift from adventure on the high seas to an inner exploration of my higher Self. A journey that would leave astronomer’s and astronaut’s wondering why they needed a telescope or a space ship to explore the vastness of the Universe, when that same vastness actually lies within each one of us.
The depth of who we are goes far beyond the imagination of who we perceive ourselves to be, limited by our past programming and illusions of the future to perceive where we are NOW. We are vast ... we are everything while simultaneously being nothing. We are the microcosm while also the macrocosm.
My undaunting spirit of adventure thrives, no longer on the high seas feeling like Christopher Columbus or all of those sailors who went before me. Now what captures my attention and captivates me is the adventure of inner exploration which is silent, vast, profound. And even in that silence I am not alone ... everyone who has ever touched my life is the blanket of stars and planets which light my path.
